PoX-5 (Epoch 4.0) activated mid-2026

Stacks epoch 4.0 and the pox-5 contract took effect at reward cycle 140 (2026-07-28), between the 2025 and 2026 year-end observations. Signer count fell from 35 in cycle 139 to 25 in cycle 140, and stacked STX from 552.4M to 446.9M, across that single boundary. Year-over-year signer and stacking figures therefore span a protocol change and are not like-for-like.
